First Service Bank is pleased to announce that Matt Thorpe has joined the organization as Market President in Maumelle. Thorpe brings over 20 years of banking experience to his new role, having most recently served as a Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at another financial institution. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
“We’re thrilled to have Matt on our team,” said Tom Grumbles, CEO of First Service Bank. “His strong lending background, deep roots in central Arkansas, and passion for helping local businesses grow make him the perfect fit to lead our Maumelle market. We look forward to seeing him develop new opportunities and serve our customers with the dedication and integrity that First Service Bank is known for.”
As Market President, Thorpe will focus on generating new business for the Maumelle branch—both loans and deposits—while also cultivating relationships that benefit the broader First Service Bank community. “After many years in lending, I was ready to take the next step in my career,” noted Thorpe. “The Maumelle market is home to a close-knit community and thriving businesses, and I’m excited to share First Service Bank’s commitment to exceptional service and personal relationships here.”
A native of Little Rock, Thorpe has been married to his wife, Sara, for more than a decade. Together they have six children. Thorpe is an active member of The Summit Church in North Little Rock, and the couple volunteers at their children’s schools. He credits his father and a favorite banking professor at the University of Arkansas for inspiring his career in finance. “I’ve always loved numbers, and getting to combine that with working directly with people is a perfect fit for me,” Thorpe said. “Helping businesses secure the funding they need to grow and succeed is incredibly rewarding.”
In his new role, Thorpe looks forward to supporting local schools, networking with business leaders, and driving community engagement. “I believe in helping the people and businesses around me reach their full potential,” he explained. “I’m excited to roll up my sleeves, meet new faces, and make a positive impact across Maumelle.”
