This past month, Operation Red, White & Brave and First Service Bank had the incredible honor of sending 21 veterans on a meaningful trip to Washington, D.C.—a journey that allowed these brave men and women to walk the historic streets of our nation’s capital and experience its rich legacy up close.
This unforgettable trip was made possible thanks to the generosity and continued support of those who give to the ORWB Foundation. Your contributions not only fuel our mission but more importantly, demonstrate your deep gratitude to the heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. We are truly thankful.
The veterans embarked on a guided tour of the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, the National Mall, and other iconic monuments and museums. They were also able to tour the World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and Korean War Memorial.
They had the opportunity to tour the Washington National Cathedral, a space that has hosted state funerals, presidential inaugural masses, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s final sermon. Another moving experience was the visit to Arlington National Cemetery, where they witnessed the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns and the Kennedy family gravesites.
The journey continued with a stroll through Old Town Alexandria, followed by a tour of Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. There, the veterans walked through the gardens and grounds before visiting the tomb of General Washington and his wife, Martha.
Their time in D.C. also included a visit to the White House Visitor Center, where they viewed historical artifacts, and stops at the Smithsonian Institution, exploring several museums that surround the National Mall.
This was a trip we will cherish for years to come—a journey that reminded us of the courage, strength, and dedication of those who have served. To our veterans and active military, we simply say: “Thank you.” Thank you for your bravery. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for protecting our freedom.
At Operation Red, White & Brave, our mission remains clear: to support, honor, and stand by those who have served this great nation. We are forever grateful.
