Your adventure begins in Bern, Switzerland, where youโll explore the city before joining your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner. Enjoy a guided tour with stops at the Bundeshaus, Bear Pit, Rose Gardens, and Gothic Cathedral, and visit Habkern to see how a traditional alphorn is made. Then travel to Lucerne, known as the โSwiss Paradise on the Lake,โ to see iconic landmarks such as the Chapel Bridge, Water Tower, Town Hall, Jesuit Church, and Lion Monument, with the option to take an excursion to Mount Pilatus. From there, the journey continues into Liechtenstein, where youโll stroll through Mitteldorf and the town center of Vaduz. In Innsbruck, Austria, choose between two walking toursโone focused on major attractions like Maria-Theresien-Strasse, the Hofburg, and the Golden Roof, or one highlighting the cityโs architecture. You may also opt to visit the nearby village of Seefeld. Then itโs off to Salzburg to explore the Mirabell Gardens, Getreidegasse, and other notable city sights while enjoying meals at local restaurants along the way. Your tour continues with visits to Linderhof Palace and Ettal Abbey, a Benedictine monastery founded by Louis IV, where youโll explore the stunning Basilica and enjoy a brewery tour and tasting. Lucerne, Mount Pilatus: $99.00
Enjoy the splendor of pure nature while gliding over a clear landscape in panoramic gondolas and spectacular cable cars. Ascend Pilatus via a unique excursion on the steepest railway of the world with a gradient of 48%. Upon arrival at the top, soak in the magnificent Alpine view from 7,000 feet above sea level. During leisure time at the summit, stroll the walkway for views from a different vantage point, or enjoy Swiss culinary delights on your own in one of the various restaurants (lunch is not included). Return back down the mountain by panoramic gondola for yet another bird’s eye view. In the off-season (November to mid-May), the cogwheel train is unavailable, and both the ascent and descent will be by panorama gondolas and aerial cableway. Known as one of the world’s greatest ski resorts, Seefeld offers a relaxed atmosphere in an Alpine setting with miles of trials for walking, lakes, fine shopping, dining possibilities, and fresh, Alpine air. After arriving by train, enjoy a glass of schnapps and a traditional horse and buggy ride. Day 2: Thursday, June 17, 2027 Bern, Switzerland Arrive today in Bern, the capital of Switzerland. This UNESCO World Heritage site rests in the Swiss countryside. The cobbled Old Town section is so well preserved that residents who lived here 500 years ago would still find it familiar today. As arrival times will vary, there is no scheduled sightseeing today. Spend the day as you wish, exploring the city independently. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner featuring local cuisine. (D)
Day 3: Friday, June 18, 2027 Bern Explore delightful Bern on a panoramic sightseeing tour, led by a local guide, passing by the Bundeshaus (the Swiss Parliament), the famous Bear Pit, the Rose Gardens and the gothic cathedral which dominates Old Townโs skyline. The remainder of the day is yours to explore independently. Perhaps youโll take a ride in the red carriages of the Gurtenbahn funicular railway, climbing Gurten Mountain to an altitude of 2,574 feet (858 meters) for impressive views of Bern, the surrounding towns and mountains. Day 4: Saturday, June 19, 2027 Bern – Habkern – Bern Today, visit Habkern, the small mountain village outside of Interlaken boasting classic postcard imagery of Switzerland. Enjoy a tour with a local workshop owner to learn how the alphorn is made and even entertain your musical side by playing one, and explore the world of yodeling through a professional demonstration โ perhaps youโre a natural and never knew! Finish your afternoon with a fondue lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Bern. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon at leisure. (B, L)
Day 5: Sunday, June 20, 2027 Bern – Lucerne – Bern Set out for Lucerne, the โSwiss Paradise on the Lake.โ Enjoy a leisurely paced Altstadt (Old Town) walking tour, exploring the hidden treasures of this 800-year-old city such as the covered Chapel Bridge (1333); the famous Water Tower, which has served as a prison, watchtower and treasury; the Renaissance-style Town Hall; the baroque Jesuit Church; and the Lion Monument, carved from natural rock to commemorate the heroic Swiss Guard. Spend the free afternoon in this magnificent city or perhaps join an optional tour to the legendary Mount Pilatus. Tonight, upon return to Bern, dine at one of Bernโs great restaurants. (B, D)
Day 6: Monday, June 21, 2027 Bern – Vaduz, Liechtenstein – Innsbruck, Austria En route to Innsbruck, make your way through Liechtenstein, the smallest German-speaking country in the world and the only country to lie entirely within the Alps. Spend some time in this tiny capital and wander the winding cobbled streets of Mitteldorf, Vaduzโs little old quarter and walk down Stadtle, the center of Vaduz, referred as โsmall townโ by the locals. Continue towards Austria, and savor a free afternoon to settle into the beautiful city of Innsbruck. (B)
Day 7: Tuesday, June 22, 2027 Innsbruck This morning, itโs your choice! Select one of two leisurely walking tours: join a local guide as you discover the cityโs history and culture while passing popular attractions including Maria-Theresien-Strasse, the Hofburg, and the โGolden Roof” -OR- you may embark on a tour focusing on Innsbruckโs unique architectural structures including its famous ski jump. Spend the afternoon at leisure in this charming town or perhaps youโll choose to join an optional tour to the charming village of Seefeld. Tonight, experience the rich musical tradition of mountainous Austria during a Tyrolean folklore show hosted by a well-known local musical family. (B)
Day 8: Wednesday, June 23, 2027 Innsbruck – Salzburg – Innsbruck Travel through the picturesque Austrian countryside to Salzburg. Enjoy a walking tour featuring Mirabell Gardens (seen in The Sound of Music), the quaint Getreidegasse (birthplace of Mozart), and many other highlights of this beautiful city. Complete your afternoon with a delightful lunch at the 1,200-year-old St. Peterโs Restaurant, the oldest in Austria and still owned by the monks. (B, L)
Day 9: Thursday, June 24, 2027 Innsbruck – Bavaria, Germany – Innsbruck Tour Linderhof Palace, the only palace – out of three – that King Ludwig II lived to see completed. Walk the extraordinary halls that were modeled after Versailles with an expert guide and bask in the luxury of past royals. After, make your way to the Ettal Abbey* โ a Benedictine monastery founded in 1330 by Louis IV. Here, youโll tour the Basilica followed by a brewery tour complete with tastings. Next, return to Innsbruck. Tonight, you are treated to a farewell dinner at a traditional Tyrolean restaurant. (B, D)
