Our First Service Bank Travel Club has just returned home from an unforgettable adventure exploring the landscapes and rich culture of Iceland. Throughout the trip, the group experienced some of the country’s most beautiful sights while creating wonderful memories together along the way.
The journey began with a guided tour of Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavík, where travelers strolled through the streets and explored the harbor, city hall, Parliament building, and the historic architecture of the city’s cathedral.
The group also explored the famous Golden Circle. During their visit to Thingvellir National Park, travelers had the unique opportunity to walk along the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
Iceland’s stunning waterfalls and landscapes were another memorable part of the journey. The group visited the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and walked along the black volcanic sands of Reynisfjara Beach. They also explored Sólheimajökull Glacier, the fourth largest glacier in Iceland, and traveled through Vatnajökull National Park to the beautiful Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, where floating icebergs drift across the water and looked out for wildlife that roam the waters.
Many evenings were spent enjoying wonderful dinners, and monitoring the quickly changing weather while continuing the search for the Northern Lights. They drove along the scenic shores of the Reykjanes Peninsula, taking in its lava fields and unique landscapes before visiting the famous Blue Lagoon.
It was an incredible journey filled with beautiful sights, memorable experiences, and new friendships from their Icelandic adventure!
