From Denali to the Inside Passage: Highlights from Our Alaska Adventure

September 17, 2025

This past month, our First Service Bank Travelers Club returned from an unforgettable adventure on the Alaska Land & Discovery Cruise—and what an incredible experience it was! From breathtaking landscapes to rich cultural moments, this journey was filled with discovery, laughter, and lifelong memories.

The trip began in Fairbanks, where travelers boarded the iconic Sternwheeler Discovery to learn about the culture and history of Alaska firsthand. They explored life as a local and traveled by motorcoach to the stunning Denali National Park, where they embarked on the Tundra Wilderness Tour—spotting wildlife and diving into the park’s fascinating history.

From there, they took a scenic train ride to Talkeetna and relaxed at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge with views of Denali. The adventure continued with a drive through the Alaska Range and Turnagain Arm, with a stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where travelers learned about the care of orphaned and injured animals, including bears, moose, wolves, and porcupines.

In Whittier, the group boarded a 7-night Holland America cruise and sailed past the awe-inspiring Hubbard Glacier and the protected beauty of Glacier Bay National Park. They stepped back in time in Skagway, reliving Alaska’s Gold Rush era, and explored the charm of the state’s capital, Juneau. The journey also took them to Ketchikan—the “Salmon Capital of the World” and “City of Totems”—before cruising the scenic Inside Passage.

As the trip came to a close, our travelers reflected on the amazing experiences they shared—spectacular sights, fascinating history, and the joy of making new friendships along the way.
