Sponsors Sought for ORWB Gala

March 7, 2023

Local businesses, churches and other groups have a unique opportunity to show their support of veterans, active military and their families by becoming a sponsor for the upcoming Operation Red, White and Brave Gala.

โ€œORWB is committed to celebrating and helping active military, veterans and their loved ones,โ€ said Rebecca Barnard, board chairman for the ORWB Foundation. โ€œIt is an honor to help the men and women who have served our country to protect the freedoms we hold so dearly. We know there are other groups that share our mission and we invite them to partner with us.โ€

The ORWB Gala โ€“ planned Thursday, June 15, at Herschel Hall in Greenbrier โ€“ was created to recognize local veterans and military while also raising money to support future foundation projects.

Deena Burnett Bailey โ€“ whose husband was aboard United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001 โ€“ will be the featured speaker at the gala. Tom E. Burnett Jr. was among the airplane passengers who thwarted an attempt by terrorists to crash into their intended target in Washington, D.C. โ€“ the White House or the U.S. Capitol.

Operation Red, White and Brave was created in 2019 to support First Service Bankโ€™s vision as well as one of its core values โ€“ patriotism. โ€œFirst Service Bank is known as the big flag bank but we want to be more than just the bank with the big flag. We want to celebrate, recognize and support the military, veterans and their families,โ€ said Rebecca.

First Service Bank is the Presenting Sponsor for the gala. Additional sponsorships are available and include Gold ($1,000), Silver ($750) and Bronze ($500). In addition to tickets to the gala, sponsors will be recognized in a variety of ways at the event.

โ€œAs a sponsor at this yearโ€™s ORWB Gala, you will assist the Foundation in honoring veterans and helping address the needs of those who served and their families,โ€ said Rebecca. โ€œMoney raised through ticket sales and sponsorships will support future ORWB projects, which range from physical assistance to financial support.โ€

In addition to financial support for ORWB projects, volunteers are needed to contribute their time and talents. โ€œThe program requires not only monetary contributions, but also volunteer time and commitment,โ€ Rebecca said.
