“First Service Bank was there for me when it mattered,” - Guy Harris Sylamore Creek Camp

“First Service Bank was there for me when it mattered,” - Guy Harris Sylamore Creek Camp

First Service Bank has been there to see Guy Harris and the Sylamore Creek Camp in Mountain View through disruptions ranging from floods to tornadoes to the corona-virus.  Guy had followed loan officer Leo Sutterfield from another bank to First Service Bank when it first opened.  Leo had helped Guy rebuild after a flood—he hadn’t been able to get flood insurance, after Stone County had voted not to be included in the federal flood insurance plan—and he had also helped Guy structure his loan payments to accommodate his busy season, when the campground’s income is highest.

When the corona-virus-related crises began, Guy was concerned for his employees.  His business relies on travel and tourism, and within a few days, his normally-busy campground was very quiet, as travel restrictions and then the cancellation of the Folk Festival kept people at home.

Guy says that First Service Bank loan officer Tina Jones “went over and above” to get all the paperwork together, get it signed, and secure a loan to see him through the crisis.  He contacted the bank on Friday, and after some calls back and forth through the weekend, he received funding early the next week.

Now, even with new social distancing protocols in place, and limited occupancy for the sites and cabins the campground is filled up every weekend, and Harris has to turn people away every week.

“First Service Bank was there for me when it mattered,” Harris says, “and I trust them to be there for me the next time, whatever comes next.”
