First Service goes ‘the extra mile’

Susan Cavin has high praise for First Service Bank and its associates and recognizes the financial institution has gone above and beyond when it comes to serving customers. 

Susan is the finance and administration manager at Oaks Brothers, where she has worked for 26 years. For more than 20 of those years, the business has been a First Service Bank customer. “First Service has truly gone the extra mile to meet Oaks Brothers Inc. needs as a customer and continues to do so,” Susan said. 

Susan works with First Service team members on transactions three or four times each week. “I enjoy the ease of transactions and my interaction with associates,” Susan said of her First Service Bank experience. 

“Employees are very professional and respond timely and accurately,” Susan said, adding that in particular, she enjoys working with Matthew Carter and Brittany Witham.

Oaks Brothers was established on Sept. 1, 1994, with four employees. Today, it has several hundred workers. The staff has more than 100 years of combined experience in plaster/stucco/exterior insulation and finish systems/fireproofing estimating and installation. 

Susan said the Merchant Capture service provided by the bank really stands out. 

The product utilizes a desktop scanner connected to a personal computer and the Internet. The bank supplies the desktop scanner along with software training. The business scans checks received from customers and submits them to the bank’s deposit team for review. Once approved, the customer is given next day credit on the deposit.

There are several benefits with Merchant Capture. Most notably, the service allows a business to deposit checks from the comfort of home or the office at any time, reducing travel to and from a branch.

“Remote deposit has changed my work life,” Susan said, citing the time-savings and convenience it provides.
