Teams, sponsors sought for ORWB tourney

The inaugural Operation Red, White, and Brave Golf Tournament is planned Monday, September 11, at the Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle.

Proceeds will be used for ORWB projects benefitting veterans, active military and their families.

“Please join us at our first ORWB tournament as we gather to pay tribute to our heroes and commemorate the spirit of bravery that defines our nation,” said Rebecca Barnard, board chairman of the ORWB Foundation. “On this significant date, September 11, we come together to celebrate the unwavering courage of our servicemen and women, first responders, and all those who have selflessly served to protect our freedom and safety.”

The four-man scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and noon at the course, located at 3 Country Club Circle. Team registration is $650. Prizes, goodie bags and lunch will be provided.

“This tournament serves a noble cause: to support and uplift our veterans, service men and women, and their families,” said Rebecca. “All proceeds from the event will be used to help Operation Red, White and Brave ensure that those who have given so much receive the assistance they deserve. Your participation in the tournament will make it a day of camaraderie and sportsmanship while contributing to a brighter future for our veterans, those in the military and their loved ones.”

A few sponsorship opportunities are available for the tournament. (Contact Rebecca at 501-772-0644 for more information.)

“This event is an opportunity to unite as a community and extend our heartfelt gratitude to the brave souls who have faced adversity head-on,” Rebecca said. “As we remember Sept. 11, 2001, we also honor the resilience and strength that emerged from the ashes, showcasing the unbreakable spirit of the American people.”
