First Service Bank Announces Promotion of Darla McJunkins to SVP of Commercial Loans and Risk Management

First Service Bank is proud to announce the promotion of Darla McJunkins as Senior Vice President of Commercial Loans and Risk Management. Darla has been a dedicated member of the First Service Bank team for 26 years, bringing nearly three decades of banking experience to her new role.

Darla started her career at First Service Bank in 1998 as a Loan Assistant and quickly advanced to the position of Lender. Over the years, she has served as Market President for Van Buren County and most recently held the title of SVP of Commercial Loan Sales. In her new role, Darla will continue to work in loans and business development for the Clinton location while assisting other branches with their business development efforts and loan underwriting. She will also oversee the Collection department and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) department, providing comprehensive risk management support for the bank.

“I have worked mostly with people in my area, so it is exciting to be able to branch out and reach more of our employees across the state,” Darla said. “I love visiting with our employees and seeing how we can grow our bank in their markets. I think it helps that I have been in many different aspects of the bank so I can relate to the different fields. This new position allows me to work more closely with our employees to better assist them with their customers.”

Darla resides in Dennard, Arkansas. She is celebrating 30 years of marriage with her husband, Adam, and they have three daughters: Sammy, Lacey Belle, and Katie. Their family recently welcomed a son-in-law, Colton Honeycutt. Darla and her family live on a farm where they enjoy raising feeder calves, riding horses, and appreciating the countryside.

Her favorite part of working at First Service Bank is the organization's commitment to work-life balance. “First Service Bank has been very good to me. They want you to take time with your family and not miss the important events in your personal life. If my daughters had a ball game or something I wanted to attend, I was able to work my schedule around to be there. We live by the Golden Rule of treating others how you want to be treated,” Darla shared.

Darla’s dedication to her community is evident through her involvement in various boards and community events. “I love my community, and I am proud to be from Van Buren County. Some people want to move away from the small cities they were raised in, but I don't ever want to leave! I want to ensure that it will continue to be a great place for my kids and grandkids to reside. First Service Bank has allowed me to be involved both with my time and with the bank’s finances. We are strong supporters of our schools and community events held here.”

Tom Grumbles, CEO of First Service Bank, expressed his confidence in Darla’s ability to excel in her new role. “Darla has been a cornerstone of our bank for many years. Her experience and dedication to our customers make her the perfect fit for this new position. We are excited to see the positive impact she will continue to make in her expanded role,” said Grumbles.
